Salame’s responsible plea stems from his participation in a conspiracy to make unlawful contributions and cheat the Federal Election Fee. Salame agreed to forfeit $1.5 billion as a part of his plea settlement with the Division of Justice.
In April, FBI officers raided Salame’s Washington, D.C. residence, charging that he diverted $24 million from FTX buyer funds to Republican teams. Nonetheless, no formal prison prices have been filed in reference to these allegations, although investigations into marketing campaign funding irregularities proceed.
